Organization Description:
Shoe Revolt, a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, is a hybrid start-up company that auctions celeb shoes to raise funds to deploy a social franchising model called Teen Revolt Chapters across the nation. The Teen Revolt Chapter's mission is to educate, engage, and empower youth to take the lead in the fight against domestic sex trafficking through peer-to-peer involvement, training, activism and social enterprise development.
Shoe Revolt is seeking an Education Intern who will work with the Founder and Chief Education Officer to:
- Assist with the development and creation of new educational resources for Teen Revolt (www.teenrevolt.org), including but not limited to the following:
- A strategy guide for engaging teens to lead the fight against domestic sex trafficking.
- Help recruit teens to start local chapters.
- Help manage and track teen revolt chapter's activities.
- Collect and process new teen revolt chapter's paper work.
- Create and maintain database with school districts, school administrators and chapter contact information.
- Coach and support Teen Revolt ambassadors to effectively manage chapter.
- Research and gather school in the United States contact information to make connections to introduce the Teen Revolt program.
- Research, identify and recommend relevant organizational partners in the U.S.
- Research and track the use of Teen Revolt resources, in order to recommend revisions, and to respond to gaps as appropriate
The successful applicant will have:
- Students studying to become teachers (preferred)
- Education background
- Strong research and writing skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational abilities
- Interest in human rights issues
