The communications intern will assist in online communications duties for all Link2Health Solutions, Inc. programs, including (but not limited to) the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Disaster Distress Helpline, Veterans Crisis Line, NFL LifeLine, WTC Health Program and the Crisis Contact Center. Link2Health Solutions, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MHA-NYC (Mental Health Association of New York City).
Internship Training and Experience: Researching and writing web content for various hotline websites; drafting messaging and assisting Communications Coordinator with social media; locating relevant mental health articles and resources and other communications-related exposure.
Required Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills; knowledge and experience with major social media platforms including Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, and MySpace; knowledge of Adobe Suite and graphic design preferred, but not required.
Qualifications: Must be able to receive college credit as internship is unpaid; relevant coursework in journalism, media studies, communications or a related field; interest in mental health or helath communications strongly preferred.
