The Marketing & Development Intern will have the opportunity to develop skills and insight into the fields of nonprofit development and administration for an international membership organization. The Development Intern will work directly with the Director of Institutional Advancement and the Development Associate to provide support in email marketing, prospect research, the development and assembly of fundraising materials, and general office administration. The intern is expected to work 7-10 hours per week from February through May 2013.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry, filing, and information management
  • Mailing list segmentation and management
  • Research on potential supporters, colleague organizations, and fundraising best-practices
  • Assembling outreach and fundraising materials
  • General office administration
  • Other tasks as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Excellent research and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail, along with ability to work independently and creatively
  • Interest in fundraising and development
  • Interest in arts and culture, human rights, and international work
  • Spanish, French or Russian language skills a plus

Interns are integral to the work of the Secretariat of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience. Interns gain hands-on experience in the fields of human rights, museology, and program management, and exposure to the methodologies and practices of Sites of Conscience. All internships are based in New York.
