Artsbridge is currently looking for motivated and enthusiastic interns that will join our efforts in helping to make a difference in the lives of Israeli, Palestinian, and American youth. As a summer intern, individuals will have the opportunity to engage and live with 20 Israeli and Palestinian teens and 10 American teens as part of our three-week summer program. The Israeli and Palestinian participants fly to the U.S. and come from diverse religious, political, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Interns must therefore be open-minded, patient, and passionate about creating cultural understanding between diverse groups.
Intern will be responsible for:
- Preparing for arrival of students and the beginning of the summer program
- Living on-site for the three-week program
- Daily administrative tasks, such as assisting to coordinate fieldtrips and other events
- Supporting staff members in day-to-day program activities
- Maintaining social media (writing daily blogs, Facebook, Twitter …etc.)
- Organizing program participants during day-to-day programming
- Supporting staff in planning and executing end of summer gala
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube…etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong desire to work with youth (previous experience working with teenagers is a plus)
- Independently motivated
- The desire to learn about the nonprofit sector is a plus
- An interest in and some basic knowledge of the Israeli/Palestinian political landscape is a plus
- A commitment to social justice issues is a plus
Candidate must be willing to commit to living and working for three weeks on-site at Buxton School in Williamstown, MA with 30 Israeli, Palestinian, and American teenagers. Candidates should understand that intern responsibilities are expansive and not always clearly defined as above.
