Boston By Foot, Inc. is an educational nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting public awareness of Boston's rich history and architectural heritage through guided walking tours presented by volunteer docents.
Boston By Foot seeks an energetic and enthusiastic intern to assist with communicating with members and the general public in promoting our organization and our programs. Approximately 15 hours per week; flexible weekday scheduling
Duties include:
- Assisting with communications with volunteer docents
- Assisting with social media postings, press releases, and newsletters
- Preparing Constant Contact communications for members and the general public
- Processing membership renewals for volunteers and members
- Processing docents' tour information
- Assisting with other office duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a small, but fast-paced office environment
- Candidate must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and have the ability to multi-task
- Experience with social media and other internet-based software
- Passion for Boston history and architecture and cultural non-profits
