What is in it for me? Interns will learn first-hand how to work on a virtual team, use social networking, email campaigns, internal publications and traditional media to promote a national fundraising campaign, work in fast-paced environment and gain experience in event management and event production.
Who would you be working with? The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the nation's largest organization focused on serious mental illnesses, has one opening for an unpaid internship in support of its new nation-wide campaign NAMIBikes. Entering the third year of our "Fight Stigma & Ride!" campaign NAMIBikes is scheduled to host seven to 10 bike rides across the country in 2014. With significant growth since our inaugural ride in 2011, we're looking for a hardworking and creative intern to help this event boost its marketing potential and turn a significant corner.
Marketing internship – The qualified self-starter will possess a "can do" attitude. Working about 10-12 hours/week to promote NAMIBikes and our mission to Fight Stigma & Ride!, responsibilities will include: managing and posting content to our current social networking accounts; investigating and making recommendations on other social networking platforms; researching and posting event details in online calendars, list-serves and traditional print-media; managing our monthly email campaign; creating and managing our Event Program/Ad Book layout; developing an animated video series to help promote riding, volunteering and fundraising.
The length of assignments is September – December, at approximately 10-12 hours/week. This is a work from home assignment and days and times are flexible to meet the intern's schedule.
