Description du stage

Safe Kids Worldwide is accepting applications from current or recently graduated university students interested in global health.

Safe Kids Worldwide is a global network of organizations dedicated to protecting children from unintentional injuries. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of an injury each year, and every one of these tragedies is preventable. Safe Kids works with an extensive network of more than 600 coalitions in the U.S. and in 23 countries to reduce traffic injuries, drowning, falls, burns, poisonings and more. Since 1988, Safe Kids has helped reduce the U.S. childhood death rate from unintentional injury by 53 percent.

The International Programs Intern will support these 23 countries to enhance the global network in the following ways:

  • Serve as primary support for International Department
  • Assist in coordination of summer international conference
  • Research foundations and conduct data management
  • Contribute to report and newsletter development
  • Help implement international communications plan, including social media

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer and internet competency
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Experience with social media
  • Experience conducting literature reviews and some research
  • Background in public health, social sciences, or international development preferred
  • Upper-class undergraduate, graduate student and recently graduated candidates will be considered

This is a part or full-time position (20-40 hours/week), depending on availability. Terms are at least three months in duration and open to longer time commitments. Internships can begin as early as January 2013. Transportation stipend will be provided.
