Public Relations Manager
The PoMP Public Relations Manager will create and maintain a favorable public image for our organization. He or she will write material for media releases, plan and direct public relations asignments within the committee, and promote PoMP on the market.
Please note that this is a deliverable-driven position that allows the Intern to work flexibly from any location in the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as main information source for all media contacts requesting data and insights
- Work closely with the committee members to develop creative and integrated programs to support product introduction, services offering, new technology and thought leadership
- Manages the process and results, as well as develops and coordinates the implement of email, promotions and events with PR Committee team members.
- Establish processes to generate steady volume of press releases and promote within the appropriate channels
- Work with marketing writers and committee members to develop, solicit and place contributed articles, bylines, editorials and other key mentions
- Design methods of promoting key media and analyst coverage internally, and leverage coverage to support marketing and sales campaigns
- Educate industry analysts on our value proposition
- Arrange, facilitate and manage media and analyst briefings with key company spokespeople
- Establish PoMP as a key technology player in both vertical and horizontal markets through media and analyst exposure
- Establish operational objectives and work plans
- Develop, modify and execute company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effects
- Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
- Regularly interact with PR Committee Chair on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in public relations, journalism, marketing, business or a communications-related field
- Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of online and electronic newswire services, media tracking and Internet research resources, and website marketing
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines. Must be enthusiastic self-starter who works effectively with minimal supervision
- Able to balance multiple competing priorities with an eye for detail
