The RefugeeOne Development Department coordinates several collection drives, fundraising events, educational workshops and community relations efforts throughout the year.
The Development Intern will be responsible for assisting RefugeeOne with various projects related to fundraising and educational events. Specific tasks include planning experiential learning activities for donors, processing donations, assisting with collections and working with supporters of the agency.
This hands-on position is an excellent opportunity to learn all aspects of non-profit fundraising or management. Joining the RefugeeOne team also affords an inside look at the workings of fundraising for a Chicago non-profit.
Candidate must be a student currently enrolled in a university or college and in good academic standing. This position is unpaid and is ideal for students receiving academic credit for internships. The candidate should be interested in fundraising or nonprofit management. The candidate should also be a self-starter, resourceful and detail-oriented with great written and oral communication skills. Adeptness with the Internet, social media and Microsoft Office programs is required. Experience with Adobe design programs and DonorPerfect or Raiser's Edge is a plus. Some evening and weekend work is required. This position requires a minimum commitment of 12 hours a week.
