Rock to the Future is seeking Summer music interns!
Rock to the Future provides music education to Philadelphia's underserved youth at no cost to them or their families. Using music, our program ignites passion and creativity, supports academic achievement, and improves self-esteem. We empower individuals and strengthen communities. Rock to the Future is located in Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA.
This exciting internship is a way to gain valuable experience in the music and teaching field! Working with lower-income, at-risk youth is incredibly rewarding and our small organization will help you build skills to boost your resume!
Qualifications:
-Must pass background check and clearences if working directly with program participants
-Must be over age 18
-Must be familar with music and music theory (we're not searching for perfection, but a basic understanding is preferred)
-Must be familiar with Word, Excel, and other software programs (Adobe) are a plus
-Must be able commit to 9 hours minimum each week (with exceptions occasionally)
Responsbilities:
-Creating musical curriculum worksheets for guitar, bass, drums, piano, and/or music theory
-Working hands on with students at Summer camps, Saturday workshops, and/or workshop series
-Other tasks potentially including special events, marketing, and promotion
