Strength to Strength was established to bring victims of terrorism and their families together to heal globally. Strength to Strength connects with organizations in various countries who also work with those directly impacted by terror in order to bring survivors together and form a globally community of support and healing. Strength to Strength runs support groups, programs, and fundarising events to assist victims and their families with long-term psychological needs.
Strength to Strength seeks an intern to assist in marketing and/or graphic design.
Responsibilities will include: online event posting, press releases, newsletters to donors and to group members, various special event save-the-dates and invitations, program brochures for donors, volunteers and program participants, and assisting and monitoring the website.
Qualifications:
- Undergradate or graduate student with excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Comfortable speaking on the telephone
- Self-starter team player with the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong understanding of visual design layout
- Knowledge of websites, HTML and/or WordPress are a plus
- Passionate and enthusiastic about assisting those in need
Hours can be done offsite (we are based in NYC) and there is flexibility with the time/days depending on your schedule. Position is 10 hours a week. This internship begins around January 28, 2013 and runs through May 15, 2013 but dates are flexible. This is an unpaid internship but the experience will be worth your time!!
