Core Responsibilities:

The Technology and Innovation Intern will be primarily responsible for managing logistics related to LJAF's innovative tech philanthropy project, the Giving Library. The Giving Library is a website that presents video interviews from hundreds of nonprofits to help donors make informed giving decisions. Additionally, the Intern will be required to perform research and generate ideas on innovative ways to further LJAF's charitable mission. The Intern will also be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Logistics Management:
    • Coordinating with the 600 nonprofit organizations participating in the Giving Library's phase II of video filming, responding to inquiries, collecting and filing agreements and sending update emails as-needed.
    • Vetting nonprofit organizations for potential inclusion in the Giving Library.
    • Editing scripts and other documents provided by participating nonprofits.
    • Presenting project updates to LJAF leadership.
    • Answering general inquiries about the Giving Library.
  • Innovation and Brainstorming:
    • Contributing to bi-monthly LJAF Innovation Labs to collaborate with other staff members to develop new charitable initiatives.
    • Researching and generating ideas for new ways LJAF can use technology to further LJAF's charitable mission.
    • Participating in weekly staff meetings with the LJAF team.

Essential Skills, Experience and Abilities:

  • Must be a current college student or college graduate.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities, including demonstrated experience in research, writing, and editing as well as presenting and articulately defending ideas.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience coordinating large projects.
  • Proactive, positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • The ability to think creatively and analytically to find answers to difficult questions.
  • A desire to change the world.
