This position is in the Development Division of the American Lung Association's National Headquarters Office located in New York. Help the American Lung Association achieve its mission by creating new ways to encourage financial support for the organization's efforts in lung disease research, patient and caregiver support.
Responsibilities include:
The intern will gain important experience in how a major non-profit communicates with its donors. Alongside experienced fundraisers and lung disease research professionals, you will assist the Association with identifying new ways to reach donors interested in funding research initiatives, especially through social media and online partners. You will work with national and regional development staff in providing key support to developing campaigns, helping to draft communications and execute campaign activities designed to achieve fundraising goals.
Work Schedule:
Up to 20 hours per week during normal business hours
Base Pay:
$10.00/hour
Qualifications:
We seek an enthusiastic and reliable individual who has an interest in supporting public health while learning about philanthropy and fundraising. Candidates must be a Junior, Senior or recent graduate with a GPA of 3.5 or above. Candidates must have basic knowledge of fundraising techniques, marketing and donor relations via internships or volunteer work. Strong, writing, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills are important. Basic graphic design skills are helpful but not necessary.
