The Irondale Ensemble Project is looking for an undergraduate or post-graduate intern to work in our growing Theater Education department. Gain hands on experience working closely with Irondale's Director of Education in a fast-paced professional off-Broadway theater. Attend staff meetings and become and integral part of a Brooklyn-based non-profit. Interns are invited to attend networking and professional development opportunities, as well as arts events around the city. Interns attend teaching artist training sessions and participate in adult acting courses to further their practice. Make a huge impact in our community!

Duties include:

  • Assisting with classroom visits, planning meetings, and traveling to NYC schools
  • Marketing and social media for Education programs
  • Co-teaching on-site youth and teen classes
  • Production Assistant for Play Project, a new play reading series for young audiences.
  • Administration assistance in event planning for student matinees and other education workshops
  • Research for study guides
  • Helping develop assessment tools
  • Community building
  • Documentation of education events

Qualifications:

  • Must be organized
  • Professional experience with arts organization or school preferred
  • Knowledge in Google Calendars, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Photoshop, and Microsoft Word is not required but is a big plus!
  • Previous teaching experience required

Irondale's Education Intern should be able to commit to at a minimum of 20 hours per week for the entire 2013 Winter/Spring season. This internship is unpaid but college credit is available. Summer employment and performance opportunities negotiable for the right candidate.
