Open Media Foundation is a Denver nonprofit organization dedicated to putting the power of the media into the hands of the people, by providing affordable, high-end media and technology services and offering education and tools that enable everyone to represent their own voice in the media conversation.
The Fundraising and Development Intern position is for someone interested in learning all the aspects of marketing, networking, fundraising and outreach for a non-profit organization. Tasks will focus on building diversity into outreach efforts, which in turn will build a strong base of different types of supporters including members, students, donors, watchers, supporters and champions within the community. Other tasks might include assisting in planning annual fundraising breakfast, posting events and announcements to websites, develop speaking tours, videos and table displays, develop community outreach programs, promote memberships & classes, promoting underwriting packages to businesses and organizations, acquiring sponsorships, event planning and work with other interns and volunteers. They may be asked to contact donors, write letters and newsletter updates, support volunteers and help with office maintenance.
We ask for commitment of 12 hours per week with a total of 200 hours. Benefits include free media education classes during the internship and a one-year membership following the completion of the internship.
