What is Home Of Change?
Home Of Change stands in the gap for girls who are trapped in the web of sex trafficking and those who are at risk. We build safe homes and provide an environment that restores freedom and purpose. We network and fundraise for efforts focused on national and international awareness, prevention, safe homes, and mediation.
What is Project Soap?
Project Soap is an initiative by Home Of Change to deliver over 1000 soaps a month labeled with the National Human Trafficking Hotline to motels in high risk areas of Orlando. These soaps can be a life-saving tool for victims being forced into prostitution in Orlando.
Qualifications and Expectations:
- Strong communication skills with ability to convey ideas in written and spoken English
- Commitment to Home Of Change's mission and vision
- Fluency in other languages not required but a plus
- Organized, punctual and responsible
- Computer Literacy in all Microsoft Office programs
- Experience working directly with others, specifically in a volunteer setting
- All positions must dedicate at least 8 hours a week for the duration of their internship. All internships will begin with an initial daylong volunteer training at the start of their term.
Responsibilities:
- Order and prepare materials for monthly soap distribution
- Assist in the fundraising process for Project Soap
- Research establishments that would benefit from Project Soap in Central Florida
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for outreach opportunities
- Participate as main coordinator, under the supervision of our executive director, at Project Soap outreach
