The Center for Urban Research (CUR), located at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, organizes basic research on the critical issues facing New York and other large cities in the U.S. and abroad, collaborates on applied research and information dissemination with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, foundations, the media, and other partners, and holdsevents to foster public understanding and discussion of urban issues and urban research. It works closely with graduate students and faculty at the Graduate Center to carry out these activities.
Position Description:
This position will be part of a team working on CUR's NYC's 21st Century for All project. The goal of this project is to highlight the most pressing policy concerns facing New York City during the 2013 mayoral election, and suggest innovative solutions to encourage economic growth and improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers. The project is organizing a series of high level sessions encouraging brainstorming among relevant policy makers, culminating in a an anthology of essays addressing policy regarding education, sustainability, social services, and economic development just to name a few.
The Web Design and Management Intern will help with the development of the NYC's 21st Century for All's website, as well as be collaborate in the creation of social media outreach strategies, and assist in their execution.

Time commitment: Minimum 10 hours/week; end of January through the end of May 2013.
Compensation: Modest monthly stipend with travel allowance
