Purpose:
LLS's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The Special Projects Department of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society serves this purpose by actively managing the Blood Cancer Conference, an annual patient education program, and supporting the Board of Trustees in its regular activities.
The Special Projects Intern (Year-Round) will have the unique opportunity to participate in the management of a large project from charter to completion. Committing to the full year means that the incumbent intern will be instrumental in developing the project budget and timeline as well as seeing the culmination of all project efforts the day of the Conference. He or she will acquire important skill sets in project management, nonprofit management, and strategic planning. The incumbent intern will also enjoy a wonderful office environment and gain practical real world nonprofit experience working directly with senior management at the chapter.
Ideal candidates will be able to commit from February 2013 – January 2014 (excluding holidays and summer break); hours are flexible; internship will be part-time (15-25 hours a week), & can be scheduled around classes, but INTERN MUST KEEP REGULAR HOURS. Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm.

The Special Projects Intern will work under the supervision, direction and training of the Special Projects Manager to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities.
