Do you want to be an influential voice in your community? Are you interested in raising awareness about domestic violence? DVRP is currently searching for a Spring intern for the Community Outreach Program and the Training & Technical Assistance Program.

The Community Outreach Program is devoted to increasing awareness about the dynamics and impact of domestic violence in A/PI communities. DVRP's Training & Technical Assistance Program works with service providers to ensure the provision of culturally competent services to A/PI survivors.

Tasks include:

  • Assist in coordinating and providing domestic violence education and workshops
  • Attend workshops and coalition meetings to address issues affecting the A/PI community
  • Oversee the production, translation and distribution of materials about domestic violence at A/PI and domestic violence organizations
  • Draft and send e-mails to DVRP's supporters and donors
  • Assist in planning events for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May
  • Update training and donor databases on a regular basis
  • Conduct intakes for individual A/PI survivors of domestic violence, if needed
  • Other related duties, as assigned

Time Commitment: This internship begins in late January/early February until May 2013 although start dates can be somewhat flexible. Interns should have availability during DVRP's business hours (Mondays-Fridays 10am-6pm). Interns are required to commit to at least 10 hours per week.
