Greater Wheeling Area Youth Outreach, Inc. "Dream Maker's Program" is looking for Volunteers for tutoring/mentoring youth
Mission: The Greater Wheeling Area Youth Outreach, Inc. (GWAYO, Inc.) is committed to empowering young people from lower income families with the opportunities, skills, and vision to achieve long terms dreams and goals.
We welcome college students, retired individuals, and anyone with an interest in working with youth as tutors/mentors at our Palatine location. Currently we are seeking a commitment of one day a week or more.
Program Location: New Hope Community Church, 1023 E. Palatine Rd, Palatine IL 60074
Program Days: Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-6:00pm Middle School Program
Currently Serving: River Trails and MacArthur Middle Schools.
Internship Opportunities:
- Experiencing firsthand the work of a small non-for-profit organization
- Working as Program Supervisor in the "Dream Maker's Program"
- Involved in the set-up, running, and behind-the-scenes planning of the program & organization
- To assist at-risk students in improving academic & life skills.
- To assist in fundraising-related activities for Dream Maker's program.
