External Affairs Internship Description
Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSP) is the local affiliate of the country's leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate. We believe that everyone has the right to choose when or whether to have a child, and that every child should be wanted and loved. PPSP provides a wide range of preventive health care including family planning services, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, as well as life saving cancer screenings.
PPSP operates a robust External Affairs department and volunteer program to give our supporters a variety of ways to engage with and support our work. The External Affairs Intern will assist the department in implementing communications and legislative strategies concerning reproductive rights, family planning, abortion, the Affordable Care Act, and sexuality education. The Intern will also assist in coordinating PPSP's network of volunteers, processing new volunteers into our system, and organizing grassroots activities to support PPSP's legislative and electoral priorities.
The Interns will work with PPSP throughout the spring semester, with a flexible start date in January. The position is unpaid and requires 14-21 hours per week, some of which may fall on evening or weekend hours. PPSP is happy to work with your school to secure credit for this experience.
