Description du stage

The International Green Movement (IGM) seeks to organize socially progressive and environmental organizations to create a unified voice and political platform for environmentally conscious and socially just politics.

We are seeking an HR Coordinator and Volunteer Organizers to help lay the groundwork for a new political movement based on a Green/Ecological political outlook. Please read below for an outline of the principles we support. WE ARE SEEKING A VOLUNTEER HR DIRECTOR AND VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS (ALL UNPAID/VOLUNTEER POSITIONS) to work remotely (online virtual networking) to help coordinate workgroups and operations teams. Full-time students/interns are welcome to apply.

Green and progressive political organizations around the world currently work on isolated, independent levels, lacking a unified and well-developed global political platform, marketing, and operations plans. While great ideas exist and a wealth of information and work has been developed in the area of environmental and social thinking, a truly ecological and socially conscious movement has remained on the fringe of the mainstream. There exists no broad based, highly marketable political umbrella and platform to bring together the billions of individuals who believe that an environmentally sustainable and socially just world can be a reality.

Harnessing the power of technology, media, and modern marketing, IGM will work with national Green Parties to create a new international voice in media and politics based on sustainability, economic justice, environmentalism and basic human needs. IGM seeks to crystallize and promote a unified, global ethos for a sustainable socially and environmentally just human society and a political movement to put these ideas into place.

This is an ideal opportunity for HR professionals and interns with an interest in social and environmental justice to gain experience and get involved.

Some of the policies we advocate:

-Global Demilitarization & Nonviolence. We live in a world where a disproportionate amount of public financing and social capital goes to the production of state sponsored militaries, while social and environmental programs promoting basic human needs and welfare are neglected. Elite financial interest groups have driven the massive growth of the global military-industrial complex at the expense of the average citizen. Simultaneouly, a culture of state sponsored, institutionalized violence has become entrenched in the global political systems and thought. The atrocities of state sponsored weapons production, social indoctrination and organized warfare have become socially accepted and entrenched. The current status quo is perpetual prepartion for warfare and promotion of militarisic policies, with no exit plan. IGM advocates a radical departure from the status quo, promoting global demilitarization on a large scale, with financial and social resources being re-directed to vigourous international dialogue and basic human needs. Military spending on a global scale being redirected to the development of schools, hospitals and sustainable living communities, and provision of basic human needs.

-Equitable distribution of wealth. With 20% of the world's population controlling 85% of the world's wealth, there is little room for democracy. IGM promotes open public discussion of the redistribution of global financial wealth to help create solutions for the world's poor and provide for basic human needs such as quality housing, food, and social infrastructure.

-100% Sustainability. IGM promotes policies aimed at transforming industry to 100% sustainability. Our current global industrial system is based on archaic infrastructure and systems developed exclusively for the maximization of financial profit, at the expense of the environment and quality of life for all the world's citizens. Through demilitarization and greater financial equity, global society can redirect it's resources toward the development of sustainable industries that improve the quality of life for all people.

-Basic Human Needs. The global financial system is based exclusively on the maximization of production and financial profit, regardless of the costs imposed on society and the environment. IGM promotes the tenet that "basic human needs are basic human rights." Everyone has the right to quality food, shelter, and an environmentally sustainable job. IGM promotes the development of government policies and infrastructure to provide basic human needs to all members of society.

-Visionary Economics. IGM promotes the development of a non-profit society based on volunteerism and the development of integrated sustainable living communities. Modern economic policies promoting unlimited growth in production and maximization of financial profit at all costs are responsible for mass environmental destruction and a breakdown in the fabric of healthy community and social relationships. IGM promotes values of interdependence, cooperation, and collective action for the provision of basic human needs as opposed to the current system of unbridled competition and profit maximization.

If you are in alignment with these ideals, believe that through the use of the internet and modern communications technologies a new global political paradigm can take shape, and would like to get involved, please email your resume to GREENMOVEMENT (at) GLOBAL-CHANGE.ORG
