The American Red Cross International Services Department (ISD) seeks to prevent and alleviate human suffering around the world by responding to disasters, building safer, more resilient communities, and educating future humanitarians. In the coming years the American Red Cross will deepen and expand its programming around the world while also working to strengthen the global Red Cross Red Crescent network, in order to deliver vital help and hope to some of the most vulnerable communities.
SUMMARY:
The American Red Cross International Services Department is looking for a part-time intern to help create standardized design products and communications materials in support of its growing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team. Successful applicants will possess the creativity and drive to translate detailed, sometimes difficult technical concepts provided by the mapping team into accessible, enjoyable materials, including manuals, templates, and videos.
The position will work as part of a dynamic team of humanitarian information management professionals. We are looking for someone who can work for a period of 12 to 20 hours per week from January through mid-May 2013. This internship is paid.
