Responsibilities:
This position provides a concentration in Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting and Budgeting
The Finance Intern assists the Finance Director in managing day-to-day accounting and finance activities of the Schwartz Center. S/he will assist in the administrative operations, financial statement preparation, spreadsheet analysis. This is a week-day position with a minimum 10- hour per week commitment. Your choice of work days/hours is negotiable.
Duties may include:
- · Daily corporate accounting and accounts payable functions
- · Prepare monthly journal entries
- · Monitor expense allocations (for internal financial reporting)
- · Prepare analysis for senior leadership meetings
- · Manage corporate credit card accounts
- · Manage Purchase Orders
- · Prepare service contracts with outside vendors
Requirements:
- The Schwartz Center is seeking a mature, reliable individual who demonstrates a strong attention to detail.
- Preferred field of study: pursuing a degree in Accountancy or Business Administration. Finance or Economics degree candidates will only be considered if accompanied with a concentration in Accounting.
- The Ideal candidate can work independently, and possesses good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Preferred candidate possesses strong computer skills, and is proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and has had some exposure to Microsoft Access, and/or Intacct accounting software.
