Summary

The National Women's Law Center (NWLC) is seeking interns for our Child Care Group who are available to work 35 hours or more per week full-time and 20 hours per week part-time. The Child Care intern's responsibilities will include conducting research and assisting with newsletter articles, drafting blogs, communicating with the child care field, attending and summarizing relevant meetings, and other tasks as needed.

The Organization

The National Women's LawCenter is a non-profit organization that has been working since 1972 to advance and protect women's legal rights. The Center focuses on major policy areas of importance to women and their families including economic security, education, employment, health, and reproductive rights, with special attention given to the concerns of low-income women. Students with majors in English, education, political science, pre-law and women's studies are encouraged to apply; however, all majors will be considered.

Qualifications

The Child Care Intern should be available for summer 2013 (May-August), but start and end dates are flexible. Full- time interns work 35 hours or more per week, while part-time interns should be able to commit 20 hours per week. Students with majors in English, education, political science, pre-law and women's studies are encouraged to apply; however, all majors will be considered. NWLC will work with students and their universities to provide college credit for the internship.
