Description du stage

psYOUconnect is a recently launched website that aims to connect students and community members with everything going on in their educational, social, and physical environment. The platform is designed to serve as a resource for opportunities on the Penn State campus and in the State College community. Visit http://www.psyouconnect.com/ to familiarize yourself with the site.

In its beginning stages, psYOUconnect is focused on opportunities within the realm of social innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, local agriculture, and outdoor activities. Future expansion into additional focus areas is anticipated.

Interns are able to recieve college credit for this internship through the non-profit New Leaf Intiative (http://www.newleafinitiative.org).

Responsibilities

Interns will only be expected to meet in person once a week to check in and share updates. All of the work can be done from home. Interns will be expected to maintain most communication with the team via e-mail. However, the office space at New Leaf Initiative will be available to interns at all times if they wish to work from there.

Content Development and Maintenance Intern tasks:

  • Update directory content information
  • Gather meeting and event information to develop the calendar
  • Manage content for recent news and blog posts
  • Gather contact information
  • Develop a project database to be added to the site
  • Research additional resources and focus area content

Requirements for ALL intern positions:

  • Strong research and critical thinking skills
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated approach to work
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to think creatively in a high energy, startup environment
  • Team-oriented approach to work
  • Interested in and passionate about the current project

Recommended, but not required:

  • Familiarity with Wordpress
  • Web development and/or programming skills

Students interested in social innovation, connecting campus and community, and building those relationships are espcially encouraged to apply. We want interns who are passionate about the work they are doing!
