The Children's Tumor Foundation is looking for an intern to work as the Team Support Coordinator for the Minneapolis NF Walk as a temporary position. The job is perfect for an individual looking to gain experience in fundraising events for a non-profit. The coordinator will be in responsible for event administration, overseeing event relationships, logistics and walk day implementation. The position will require 10-20 hours a week.
Duties:
- Work directly with MN Walk committee chairs to organize a successful event
- Help prepare materials for committee Chairs, team leaders including but not limited to : solicitation letters, recruitment e-mails, fundraising ideas
- Provide weekly updates to the NY office on the progress of the walk
- Coordinate event day logisitcs and set-up
- Coordinate volunteer roles for the event
- Help secure and coordinate volunteers and in-kind donations
- Reach out to sponsors and potential community partners
- Work in conjunction with NY office to help committee organize corporate solicitation and recruitment campaign.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- At least one year of experience working on community events and/or larger projects
- Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including staff, participants, volunteers, donors, and the general public.
- Experience working with the public and ability to project a positive image of the organization and its events.
- Experience with phone solicitation and soliciting donations
- Skilled in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends
- Attention to detail – strong and written verbal communications
