Columbia Law School, founded in 1858, stands at the forefront of legal education and of the law in a global society. Columbia Law School joins its traditional strengths in
international and comparative law, constitutional law, administrative law, business law and human rights law with pioneering work in the areas of intellectual property, digital technology, sexuality and gender, criminal, national security, and environmental law.
The Office of Development, Alumni Relations, and Communications at Columbia Law School is looking for a college student or recent graduate who is interested in a
fundraising internship in the Office of Donor Relations from February through May. The position is an excellent opportunity to gain fundraising and development experience in a premier academic institution in the midst of a $5 Billion campaign during a particularly challenging financial climate.
The intern will support the work of the Donor Relations Office of Columbia Law School. Our office acts as the main point of contact for major donors to the Law School. We work closely with and advise our major gift frontline fundraisers, create stewardship events, draft reports and correspondence for major donors, liaise with faculty and students who receive funding, along with a host of other duties within the fundraising and alumni relations office.
In particular, the intern will be responsible for writing, editing and research work for donor endowment reports, which are currently being sent out. These
consist primarily of student and faculty biographies. The incumbents will also compose and process acknowledgments correspondence, work fundraising and donor
events as needed, write pieces for our on-line donor legacy project, and assist with the development of the donor impact section of our website.
We are looking for an individual who can commit to working approximately 3 days per week. This is a paid ($12/hour) internship and the hours are flexible. The individual will need to have excellent writing and research skills, good organizational aptitude, and an outgoing personality.
