Martha's Table Mission Statement

Martha's Table's mission is to serve the needs of the less fortunate in our Washington, D.C. community through food, learning, healthy living, recreational, and family support services by mobilizing, training, and teaching volunteers. We carry out this mission through three areas of service: Children and Youth Programs, Family Services, and Food Services, by:

· Providing meals to the homeless at numerous sites throughout the city via our mobile soup kitchen, McKenna's Wagon, 365 days a year, meals for seniors, and the daily availability of food at our building on 14th Street;

· Providing tutorial, learning, and recreational programs throughout the year for approximately 300 children, ages 3 months to 18 years, at-risk in the Shaw and Columbia Heights neighborhoods; and

· Offering family support services to our constituents, including a Laundromat, a health education office, a clothing distribution center, a day-care center, and information and referrals about other community and government services.
