Mission
A Bridge for Children International (ABC) is a US non-profit organization, with the vision the "Every Child Deserves a Family. Every Child Deserves an Education". We believe that through a stable home and a good education, a child can achieve anything. To that end, we have created three programs to further our mission:
The CONNECT program opens the door for involvement from corporations, organizations, university students and local residents in structured projects that directly impact communities served by our DREAM and TALENT programs. ABC engages companies in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects through a spirit of teamwork and volunteerism. University students and interested locals can serve as coaches and teachers and help with curriculum development and delivery.
The DREAM program provides orphans with loving homes and stable family environments through foster homes. It also provides teenage orphans with intensive language, life skills and vocational skills training, and guidance on how to become self-sufficient and contributing members of society. Upon completion of the one year program, each student will have increased confidence, self-awareness, and learned tangible life and vocational skills that will prepare them to become self-sufficient and contributing members of society.
The TALENT progam empowers underprivileged migrant children through interdisciplinary arts, music and sports, and works to improve rural and migrant school classrooms through teacher training. The arts initiative focuses on the 4Cs: Care, Courage, Confidence and Commitment. Character development components are infused into the curriculum in order to instill these values and encourage the students to express themselves. By focusing on female migrant children, the basketball program seeks to reduce gender inequality that is more acutely felt by the underprivileged.
