Description

Today there are more than 1.5 million immigrants in the U.S. who are college-educated, have the legal right to work, but are unemployed or significantly underemployed. In their home countries they were engineers, doctors, scientists, accountants, and nonprofit professionals. In the U.S. they become cashiers, nannies, and cab drivers, if employed at all.

Upwardly Global is an award-winning nonprofit organization that helps highly educated but underemployed new Americans rebuild their lives and careers in the U.S., and helps employers to tap into this talent pool. Through our programs in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, San Jose, and online, hundreds of skilled newcomers are securing their first professional positions each year, bringing economic stability to struggling families, revenues to our local tax base, and filling key positions in science, technology, engineering, accounting, as well as in bilingual and global roles.
