Description

Public Counsel is the largest pro bono law office in the nation and is jointly sponsored by the Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Bar Associations. Public Counsel's staff and thousands of volunteers are dedicated to delivering pro bono legal services to indigent and underrepresented children and adults throughout Los Angeles County, and ensuring that community-based organizations serving this population have legal support. The Community Development Project is one of seven projects at Public Counsel providing free legal representation to organizations or individuals that otherwise could not afford legal assistance. Other Public Counsel projects assist clients with issues related to children's rights, child care law, consumer fraud, homelessness and immigration.
