Parent Voices Oakland is a dynamic, grassroots, parent-led membership organization working to make quality, affordable child care available to all families who need it. Since 1996, the organization's leaders and members have used a variety of community organizing tactics to expand community investment in child care, advocating for and winning millions of dollars in state funding to assist low-income families access quality, affordable child care. Parent Voices Oakland (PVO) also develops the leadership capacity of its individual parent-members to advocate effectively on behalf of their children. PVO is a member of the statewide network of Parent Voices chapters in California.
