The World Affairs Council is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1947 to promote public knowledge and education about international affairs.

The Council does not take positions on issues but encourages dialogue and public debate to increase understanding on foreign policy issues. The Council is not affiliated with any political organization and does not promote any political party's agenda.

Our mission is to provoke thought, elicit opinion and generate interest in foreign affairs issues, giving voice to our members' opinions, interests and concerns.

We host more than 200 events every year with leading political and business leaders, academics, journalists, and artists. Council events are a unique opportunity to engage in candid discussions with people who are shaping the world. Most events are open to the general public, and we encourage open discussion.
