AmeriCares is a health focused relief and development organization dedicated to helping many more people live longer, healthier lives around the world and here at home. Since, 1982, AmeriCares has delivered more than $11 billion in assistance to people in 164 countries, across the United States and around the world.

To fulfill our mission we committ ourselves to improving the quality and accessibility of health services - preventative and curative - for low-income patients. In collaboration with partners and through our three primary programs, Global Medical Assistance, Emergency Response and Recovery, and Primary Care we:

1) Expand and restore health services to save lives and preserve the health of survivors in times of disaster

2) Relieve acute material shortages of medicines and supplies so health workers may diagnose, treat and heal

3) Catalyze lasting improvements for health care and institutions, coupling in-kind and capacity building assistance

4) Provide quality primary care services for low income patients in Connecticut, El Salvador and India.
