Description

The Carbon War Room is an independent global non-profit, harnessing the power of entrepreneurship to implement gigaton- scale, market-driven solutions to climate change. Market failures and inconsistencies act as a barrier of implementation for clean technologies. Success in scaling these solutions has come from standards on new infrastructure and new financial products that allow the solution to be funded off balance sheet. Every year, trillions of dollars are invested in infrastructure. The World Economic Forum and Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates that we only need to shift approximately $550bn to the clean economy - this is less than 1% shift of total current private capital allocations. We can create real momentum and make huge shifts of capital in less than five years, and the resulting tangible solutions can bring about an absolute reduction of 17 gigatons of CO2e by 2020.
