Uganda Youth and Women's Effort Fighting AIDS (UYWEFA) is a humanitarian NGO. It services the community of Kazo, which is approximately 20 km North West of Uganda's capital city, Kampala. UYWEFA is registered with the Directorate of Wakiso District as a Community Based Organization (CBO) under the department of community welfare services.
UYWEFA is committed to addressing and alleviating the negative effects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic that has caused untold suffering, poverty, and dehumanization throughout Uganda. UYWEFA is currently running HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support programs with a wide range of activities including public awareness campaigns, education for over 50 Orphans and Vulnerable Youth (OVCs) and economic empowerment of 50 caretakers/widows living with HIV/AIDS. UYWEFA also has environment, sanitation, and human rights protection programs.
