La Comunidad que Construimos is a nonprofit organization that helps impoverished children. Our main goal is to develop self-esteem in children, through different methods, workshops and cultural exchanges. LCQC also runs the school reinforcement program, the English teaching program, Physical education, artist workshops and micro-projects with low-income Families.
Our mission ? to support children and families in the development of self-esteem through education and cultural exchange.
Our vision ? to develop and maximize the skills and talents of children and families so that they will be equipped to be successful in a world full of challenges.
Why becoming a volunteer ? Because it's the chance to be a part of a diverse, dedicated team an a welcoming community. It's to discover a new culture through immersion in local families. It's discovering the richness of Peru through many different activities (Spanish, surfing, salsa lessons, sandbording, and much more.).
La Comunidad que Construimos has just developed a new partership with "Concrete Jungle Foundation". Their main mission is to provide a high-quality skate park facility for the pupils that becomes a way to promote positive relationships and self-esteem, a healthy active lifestyle and a sense of community, all through the activity of skateboarding!
The After school program will be conducted by the volunteers of La Comunidad. The addition of a skatepark, and a strict "No School , No Skate" rule will be a great attraction for children who regularly miss school days for lack of motivation or a captivating reason to attend. Skateboarding will be the best reason these children ever showed up for their classes!
