The Social Action Committee is steered by a group of Ansche Chesed members who wish to incorporate more meaning and tikkun olam opportunities into their lives. Ansche Chesed has a rich tradition of social action with volunteering opportunities ranging from working in the homeless shelter to cleaning up Riverside Park and programming for families on topics ranging from the crisis in Darfur to the environment.
Besides the obvious goal of helping others, this committee hopes that involvement in tikkun olam will offer opportunities to augment our Jewish identities and to strengthen our community by enhancing bonds between Ansche Chesed members.
