Description

The mission of our nonprofit, based in Lima, Peru, is to support domestic workers so that their rights are respected and they enjoy the possibility of a better future. In our house, La Casa de Panchita, we provide assistance for girls with work-related, health and/or emotional problems and aid them to find better jobs where they can continue their studies. In our safe environment they can receive academic tutoring, take computing classes, read a book, relax or socialize. Through collaboration with night schools where domestic workers study, we give presentations regarding legal rights, family planning, and anti-discrimination, among other topics. We aim to promote the autonomy and empowerment of domestic workers through education and leadership training.
