The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts works behind the scenes of nearly every local program that feeds those in need in Berkshire, Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties. We rescue food from the food industry that would otherwise go to waste, store it in a 16,000 square foot warehouse, and distribute it to 420 member agencies: soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, child care centers, youth and elder programs, and more. Through these programs, The Food Bank distributes more than 6.5 million pounds of food that reaches over 110,000 people each year-half of them children.
