Music Harvest is a non-profit charity created to provide music lessons to children in under-resourced communities of the Middle East. Music Harvest was created in 2010 when a great need for music teachers unmasked itself in Nablus, a city in Palestine. Thanks to the generosity of many Western NGOs, charities and foundations, numerous community centres across the Middle East have been the fortunate recipients of many musical instruments over the years. Unfortunately, many of these instruments have arrived into areas where very few people are able to play them.
Consequently not only are very few local children being taught any of these instruments, they're rarely being played by local musicians. This is where Music Harvest hopes that you can make a difference. Our goal is to teach a generation of children how to play these instruments that they have unconsciously attained. We believe that if we can equip one generation of children with the necessary music skills, a seed will be sown amongst the local populace that will reap a harvest for every generation to come. These children will be able to continue from where Music Harvest volunteers leave off and teach their own friends the basics to understanding, reading and most importantly, playing music together.
