Description des ressources

Student Holocaust Education Movement (SHEM) presents:

A video by Mindy and Jake Sojcher, with voice recording by Elena Chernyak.

Of the 15,000 children who were imprisoned in the Terezín ghetto between 1940-1945, only 100 survived. Yet those few who emerged from the ashes of darkness often carried beacons of light. They told stories of bravery, compassion, and humanity. In doing so, they illustrated the power of hope. That hope matters.

Join 1,000 students in Yeshiva University's Lamport Auditorium on Monday night, May 2, as we remember those lost and pay tribute to a legacy of faith and resistance. We will be joined by Rebbetzin Esther Jungreis.

For more information on SHEM and/or the content of the evening, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/torchofmemory.

"We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms--to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
-Viktor E. Frankl
