Description des ressources

The Renaissance Collaborative, as the fiscal agent of the Bronzeville Alliance is accepting proposals to design, develop and host a website for the Bronzeville Retail Initiative (BRI). This will be a concept to completion production. The scope of work for this project will include custom logo design, website information architecture, design and development. This is an open and competitive process. Proposals are due by 5:00pm CST on December 21, 2012. Proposals received thereafter will not be considered.

Background of Organization

Since 2008, the Bronzeville Alliance has brought together a variety of stakeholders to develop coordinated strategies that address key issues of the community. As a strong coalition of Bronzeville residents and organizations, the Bronzeville Alliance is committed to the economic, social and cultural redevelopment of this historic community. Recognizing the need for targeted, strategic retail recruitment and retention the Bronzeville Retail Initiative (BRI) was created in 2009. BRI's vision is to create vibrant, walkable retail corridors that build on Bronzeville's rich retail and entertainment history, while serving the needs of current and future residents and destination shoppers, and providing local employment and ownership opportunities.

Purpose, Description and Objectives

Bronzeville Retail Initiative is looking to brand itself and market the retail and economic development opportunities in Bronzeville by creating a web presence that highlights the vision, goals, strategies and opportunities for the three major corridors in Bronzeville. The purpose of this website is to serve as a central source of information for perspective developers, retailers, entrepreneurs and residents alike.

This website will visually engage our target audiences while providing large amounts of constantly changing information. Our primary objective for the website is to market the community to outside developers/businesses looking to locate in Bronzeville, provide current business owners with support and critical resources all while keeping residents up to date with information on community events, upcoming commercial developments and encouraging them to patronize local Bronzeville businesses. Secondly, we want to build brand identity, awareness and interest in BRI and the services we provide.

To be effective, our website must be easy and intuitive, informative, accurate, quick to load and operate and visually pleasing.

The site must have a common theme, consistent design and present a clear, concise and compelling story of Bronzeville. Each section of the site should have a common look and feel that is visually appealing to users. The site must have an engaging and intuitive mix of text and graphics. The use of photographs, fonts and layouts should be consistent throughout the site.

The site must be easy to navigate. Information should be grouped and presented in a logical manner for the user to find the desired information.

Scope of Work and Development Guidelines

The scope of work for this project will include custom logo design, website information architecture, design and development.

a. Logo design: As a part of BRI's attempt to build brand identity, we are seeking a custom logo design to use on business cards, stationary, electronic outreach such as newsletters and social media and the new company website. The logo design must encompass the mission and goals of the BRI while depicting a theme of neighborhood renewal.

b. Website content: This website has two major audiences groups to which the site should be catered: people looking to do business in Bronzeville and residents and people from nearby communities looking to stay informed about what is going on in their community.

It is desired that the website have the following capabilities:

1. Searchable database of available lots/buildings for sale in Bronzeville. Login capability to access certain data

2. Searchable database of Bronzeville businesses categorized by business type

3. Clickable maps with Google map integration

4. Social media integration

5. Monthly calendar of events

6. Registration for monthly newsletter

7. Key word search capabilities

c. Development Guidelines

Create a content management system that will allow non-technical BRI staff to easily update web site content on specific pages. Once the site has been completed and accepted by BRI, the site will be maintained by the BRI staff.

Selected contractor must provide necessary software and licenses to maintain site internally or externally, as decided by BRI. Once the web site has been completed and accepted by the BRI Steering Committee, the web site design and all of its contents, software and architecture become property of BRI.

We will require testing of the site on all applicable platforms to ensure the web site works as promised.

We would like to utilize tracking software on the website to help us better understand and measure web visitor behavior and improve web site performance and availability. We would like the tracking tool to provide us with the following information:

1. Web traffic analysis

2. Path analysis

3. Visitor trends

4. Page views

5. Entry pages

6. Most visited pages

7. Exit pages

8. Length of stay
