Strategic thinker with a systems perspective; Experience in social scientific research and analytic thinking; Influential communicator with a peripheral vision seeking a project management position.
Change driver with a solid social scientific foundation seeking a position within the "social good" non-profit field or a for-profit social enterprise.
I am a recent graduate of a Masters program in Sociology with globalization, gender, social movements, and environmental sociology as areas of concentration. My undergraduate major is a Bachelor of Specialized Studies in Psychology, Gender Studies, and Social Change. I am dedicated to using my skills and background for the betterment of society. I am an influential communicator with a peripheral vision. My ideal working environment will be collaborative and cohesive, benefitting from my critical and analytic problem-solving skills. I am a strategic thinker with a strong systems perspective that I want to utilize towards community, national, or international development and research.
My background demonstrates my ability to take on a wide range of responsibilities, while requiring I possess diplomacy skills, be organized and time efficient with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations in a fast-paced environment. Though, my focus and passion has always been geared towards learning about social ills, their causation, and how I with likeminded people can work to change it.
I have experience in social research, creative writing and editing, administration, social media management, public advocacy, and a commitment to the nonprofit sector. I have excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, especially in my ability to communicate with social diversity and to an all-inclusive audience.
The position that I foresee myself holding will be one where my creativity, research, critical thinking skills, and drive can join my social sciences background.
"If there are any ways out of the crises of our period by means of intellect, is it not up to the social scientist to state them. What we represent--although this is not always apparent--is man become aware of mankind. It is on the level of human awareness that virtually all solutions to the great problems must now lie" -- C. Wright Mills
Global society is characterized by compassion, cooperation, empathy, and justice.
