I am an art director and writer with over ten years of experience in publishing: I have a combined seven years of full-time staff experience in the Art Department at National Geographic Magazine and in the Design Department at Science News Magazine, and I have worked as a freelance art director, writer, and educator for three years as I pursued graduate school.

In work and school, I have carefully honed a set of creative problem-solving skills directly applicable for text and image-based projects. As an educator, I have learned to manage an array of personalities by identifying individual talents and finding an appropriate way to maximize motivation and productivity. These skills are a prerequisite in the classroom and in the office.

I prefer to work on creative projects that have an educational and storytelling focus. Though I am goal-oriented and well-versed in production and meeting deadlines, I am amiable, flexible, and work well with a team.

I am a writer, artist, and educator. I realize the idealism of this endeavor. Like any idealist, I seek connections between realms that at first might seem distant.
