I work in communications & politics, spend a lot of time reading and writing about vampires, fairies, and happy endings, and I've yet to meet a genre of music I can't obsess over.
I'm a graduate of American University (Class of 2005, American Politics & Gender and American Literature) and in 2004 spent nine months abroad writing in Rome and Havana. All told, I spent about ten years in DC trying to save the world.
Almost 30 and I still adore Europe, coffee, soft flannel, cold autumns, hot summers, and political theory. I love how amazing it feels to write; to dream up characters and let them speak to you.
Boston is my home, and Dorchester is my heart.
To say my interests are varied is an understatement. I'm obsessed with intersectional feminism, behavioral psychology, television, music, and social media. I'm an advocate for sexual education, equal rights especially LGBTQ+ and racial equality, mental health awareness, and reproductive rights.
I'm a Democratic campaigner and activist: a proud member and Chair of the Greater Boston chapter of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts (currently serving my second term). I'm a world traveler, fiercely pro-choice and pro-woman, a fan of highway driving, a movie dork, and an insatiable reader. In April 2012, I was elected as the Female Bisexual Add-On Seat to the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee (I will serve four years until April 2016). I was the 2013 Interim Vice Chair of Admin & Finance for the Young Democrats of MA, and I'm the 2013-2015 Vice Chair of Programming & Policy for the same statewide organization. I'm currently serving as the 2013-2015 Secretary of the Young Democrats of America's LGBTQ+ Caucus.
