Description du poste bénévole

OVERVIEW OF SUMMER 2013

"summer 13" is a set of projects intended to empower people in rural areas in the fields of health, information technology, entrepreneurship and social responsibility:

HEALTH HOPE PROJECT: to educate rural populations about the dangers and consequences of HIV/AIDS and malaria. this will be done by peer educator training, communities sensitization (talk to talk, door to door), "community sport football tournament" and "challenge b3 marathon" across the villages receiving the project.
SOCIAL IT PROJECT: training people on the usage of computer in the areas of computer literacy, data entry operators, software such as windows xp, word, excel, powerpoint and publisher.
ENGLISH ACADEMY: English is the most spoken language in the world. it's becoming a real necessity to teach and educate people on the usage of this language. population of these villages will benefit each year as in 2011 during summer 7 weeks training on English language in 2 villages, Bangoua and Babouantou.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: is a new concept in Africa. for this project we want to stimulate people to often catch responsibilities to help other in their various communities. the renovation of a building in a primary school would be welcome for this project and put the community concerned in accordance with its realities and commitments.
Y4B (YOUTH FOR BUSINESS) PROJECT : this project component aims to give to youth rural residents accurate knowledge on entrepreneurship in accordance to the opportunities that are available around them. 10 workshops and training session on setting up projects, designing a business plan, project management and leadership.
GLOBAL VILLAGE: This will be an opportunity for all the participants from more than 10 Country to present their culture, opportunities of cooperation in their various countries. During more than 3 hours, each country represent must perform a presentation to raise awareness of participants.
ECO-TRIP: Is an eco-Tourism trip that aim to promote West and North-West Region of Cameroon. Theses trips will be done during weekend free times. Volunteers/Interns will have opportunities to visit others in their camp during weekends.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF VOLUNTEERS

Expectations:
We are expecting Volunteers and rest of the team to be proactive during the project. Each one should consider the project as his own and propose new ideas that can be helpfull for the success of the project

JOB ROLES

  • Working on preparation and delivering sessions according to the topics and the Training project choosed
  • Active participation for managing participants, listing them, collecting their feedbacks, making videos,
  • Writing articles for webpublishing…
  • Active participation on Others communities work such as Building renovation, football tournament…
  • Working on social business market research.
  • Global village preparation
  • Wrting a mid-term report for the Project and submit to the Project Manager.
  • Participating in team meetings
  • Active participation and contribution in all project relevant meetings

REQUIREMENTS

NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS NEED

  • Nationals: 12
  • Internationals: 30

DATES

  • Start Date: July 1st 2013
  • Ending Date: August 31st 2013
  • Minimum Duration: 2 weeks
  • Maximum Duration: 12 weeks [for the project, volunteers can stay longer after the project end]

Project fees:
For the 2 months (8 weeks) volunteers have to contribute an amount of :

  • 75euros each week.
  • 250euros for 1 month.
  • 450euros, once for the whole 2 months of the project.

[After applying, there will be need that you choose amoung the 3 plan above, the one match with you, and send it to WEBDEV Foundation Bank account before arriving or pay it the day 0 you arrive in Cameroon]

Project fees is covering:

  1. Airport pick-up
  2. Feeding (2 - 3 healthy meals [African food] per day)
  3. Accomodation (Dormitory or Student Room or Home Stay depending on availability)
  4. A donation towards the project
  5. A WEBDEV Foundation T-Shirt
  6. Induction seminar
  7. 24/7 support from our staff before your travel (via website & Facebook page –both of this are very reliable).
  8. 24/7 support and from our staff while abroad volunteering.
  9. Basic lessons in the language of the culture.
  10. Application for volunteering
  11. Answers to all your questions through our website and our Facebook Page.
  12. Advise to everything you will need.
  13. Information packet.
  14. Staff supervision in the country.
  15. Advise from past volunteers through our website and Facebook Page.
  16. Transportation RoundTrip from Yaounde to the Village,

Volunteer should bring his/her own Laptop and Camera for job purpose.

Work Location: Bangoua, Babouantou and/or Bandrefam (Still to be confirmed).
