The Angels & Doves Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in the United States that works closely with many disadvantaged, poor and rural communities in West Africa on social and public health issues. Our main mission is to provide training, education and economic opportunities to women and disadvantaged children in West Africa.
We are currently looking for a volunteer in Virginia, Maryland, and DC area who will work as a web developer. This is a volunteering position. We are an upstart organization that is in current need of a committed and professional individual.
For this web developer position, we are looking for an individual to be responsible for developing innovative and creative Web-based tools for our progressive online activism and community building which will enhance our presence online and promote the organization through social media. A commitment of 4 hours per week is also required.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Coordinate project-based work
- Application/Framework design as needed.
- Routine maintenance of existing platforms and applications.
- Create and maintain a favorable public image for the organization, expand the organization's presence through social media.
- Develop strategies to raise funds and help promote the organization through social media (facebook, twitter, Histogram, website).
Key Competencies
- Strong organization skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly.
- A solid understanding of web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures.
- Strong knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Must possess skills in SQL.
