This program involves teaching English to Buddhist monks. There are four levels that the volunteers are giving lesson to, with monks ranging from the age of seven to 19. The volunteers and monks can spend a lot of time together and have fun, for example during the meal times, on the weekends and in class, of course.
The monks are all friendly, very helpful and just lovely. Volunteers are teaching between two and four hours per day, depending on how many other teachers are there at the moment. If you like, teaching math is sometimes also possible. In any case, you have enough free time for yourself and on Saturday and Sunday there are no English classes. When you are interested, the head teacher will take some time to answer your questions about Buddhism or teach you the basics of meditation.
It is also possible to attend to the daily puja in the morning and afternoon.
